Fire safety training and emergency drills will be conducted in Qiaocheng to enhance safety production through demonstration and construction

On the afternoon of April 18th, Dongguan Qiaocheng Industrial Development Co., Ltd., with the assistance of the Lianhu Community Fire Brigade in Tangxia Town and Instructor Zheng, conducted fire safety training and emergency drills.  

This training exercise is one of the safety culture creation activities actively carried out by the company. The purpose of the activity is to further strengthen the safety awareness of all employees, improve their emergency avoidance and self rescue capabilities, ensure that emergency measures can be taken efficiently and orderly in the event of a fire in the company, prevent casualties and property losses, and promote the common development of safety construction and enterprise safety production.

Fire emergency drill

Firstly, the company conducted fire emergency drills against the backdrop of sudden fire hazards in production and office buildings. Accompanied by bursts of alarm sounds, the drill officially began. According to the instructions given before the drill, company employees bent down and covered their mouths and noses, quickly and orderly moving from the predetermined route to the designated safe gathering place. Throughout the entire process, the management personnel of each department are responsible for directing and guiding, and after all personnel are safely evacuated, the number of people is counted and reported.

All employees in this drill followed the command, evacuated to a safe location in a rigorous and orderly manner as required, demonstrating the effectiveness of the company's emergency plan and the employees' ability to respond, achieving the expected effect of the fire evacuation drill.

Fire knowledge explanation

After all employees gathered at the safety point, the company invited Instructor Zheng from Lianhu Community Fire Brigade in Tangxia Town to popularize fire prevention knowledge on site. Officer Zheng, based on years of experience in fire prevention and control, has provided detailed knowledge to everyone. Among them, there are two points that are most noteworthy when a fire occurs.

Firstly, do not be greedy for wealth and miss the opportunity to escape. There was once a fire where two girls who had already escaped returned to the scene to retrieve their newly purchased Apple phones, resulting in one death and one injury. Secondly, smoke is the primary "killer" of fires. Instructor Zheng teaches everyone an eight character mnemonic: run quickly with a small fire, close the door with thick smoke.

Subsequently, Instructor Zheng explained and demonstrated the correct usage and precautions of three fire extinguishing tools, namely fire masks, dry powder fire extinguishers, and fire hydrants, on site, helping everyone improve their ability to use tools for self rescue and fire extinguishing.

The use of fire masks

Many companies purchase fire masks. Fire masks can filter out toxic gases and provide relatively clean air for evacuees. Before use, it is necessary to check whether the mask, exhalation valve plate, filter box and other components are sealed and undamaged. When using, first remove the two can plugs at the front and back, use the fingers of both hands to open the mask, put the mask on the head from front to back, and tighten the headband.

The use of fire extinguishers

Next, Instructor Zheng also introduced three different types of fire extinguishers: dry powder fire extinguishers, water-based fire extinguishers, and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. Dry powder fire extinguishers are the most common and useful firefighting tools around us. Instructor Zheng personally demonstrated how to use dry powder fire extinguishers correctly.

After learning the method of using fire extinguishers with "one lift, two pulls, three pairs, and four sprays", employees volunteered to personally experience it. After lifting the fire extinguisher, shake it up and down a few times, gently lift the handle and remove the safety pin. Keep a distance of 1.5-2 meters from the fire source, aim the nozzle at the root of the flame, and shoot or sweep it.

The use of fire hydrants

After repeatedly emphasizing the role of fire extinguishers in extinguishing initial fires, Instructor Zheng also demonstrated to everyone the use of another effective fire extinguishing tool - fire hydrants.

Fire hydrants require at least three people to operate together, and the usage method is relatively complex. Firstly, open the fire hydrant door, take out the water hose and lay it towards the direction of the fire. Be careful not to twist it, and connect the two ends of the water hose to the fire hydrant and water gun respectively. After preparing for water spraying, one operator slowly opens the fire hydrant valve to the maximum, while at least two other operators tightly grip the water gun and aim it at the root of the fire source to extinguish the fire.

Thus, the fire safety training and emergency drill have come to an end. Through this training exercise, all employees have gained a deep understanding of evacuation knowledge and familiarized themselves with the company's evacuation routes, which has improved their ability to extinguish initial fires and coordinate disposal, enhanced their safety awareness and self rescue capabilities. The company will also take this training exercise as an opportunity to continue improving the effectiveness of the emergency response mechanism, enhance its ability to respond to emergencies, and make unremitting efforts to build a safe construction and enterprise safety production.
